Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I just heard the tragic news yesterday, I was Dan's friend from our late teen years on. He was my best man when I got married in the early 1980s. He was a witty and funny guy, always happy. We hung around lots as young adults. I moved far from Winnipeg, in mid 1980s but would always seek him out when came to Winnipeg. Rest peacefully my friend. - Posted by: Richard Mcintyre (Friend) on: Aug 26, 2022

  • I was one of the staff who supported Dan for the few months he was with us at HSC on GH6. His love of hockey and health caused us to bond right away. He would always keep me updated on the scores and playoff ranking if a game was on. I would regularly check in when I arrived on shift with Dan and it always started my day on a good note. I was also lucky enough to meet his siblings as well and have several conversations with them. The love and support from his family was tremendous. I would often tease him about how his sisters "spoiled him", as I often caught them doing "my job" for me. I will always remember Dan wanting to know my schedule because he "felt safe with me there" if his family was not around. His passing came as a great shock to me as I was off work just a week prior for surgery and did not see him beforehand. I will miss him dearly, and I send deepest condolences to his family. Rest in peace Daniel. "No more cold hands" Much love. Alex - Posted by: Alex McClane (Friend) on: Jun 28, 2022
