BEVERLEY HELEN BERNHARDT
(nee DANLOE)

November 4, 1942 - June 10, 2022

Bev was a beam of light and optimism, glowing beyond what might be expected of one person. Perhaps because she was an only child, she was bestowed with all of the love.
Left to tell her story and cherish many memories is her husband of nearly 58 years, Cliff, daughter Sandy Motkaluk (Richard), son Darren (Jenn Still), grandchildren, Steven, Riley, Maryssa and Myranda Motkaluk, Abby and Ben Bernhardt, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her dad, Stephen Danloe, in 1980 and mom, Helen (nee Lesiuk), in 2016.
She embraced all visitors and loved to squeeze, not just hug - particularly her grandkids and granddogs.
She was an easygoing and pleasant person to be around and viewed life through a positive lens, always generous, forgiving, accepting and fair.
When she passed, it was on the most gentle night, filled with the scent of sugary lilac and the promise she was finally at rest.
A private interment will happen at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery but a come-and-go tea to celebrate Bev's life will be held June 27, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rossmere Lanes bowling alley, 1042 Henderson Hwy.
In lieu of flowers, she would be honoured by donations made in her memory to an animal rescue or shelter, or a charity of your choice.

  • Sincere condolences to the Bernhardt family on the loss of your wife, mother & grandmother. I met Bev at Great West Life in 1962, working in the same department. I remember Bev to be friendly, kind and a great person. She will be surely missed by all that knew her. My thoughts are with you. - Posted by: Jan Lapka (Co-worker at Great West Life) on: Jun 20, 2022

  • Bev and Cliff provided us with a warm welcome when we moved into our first house across the lane from their home. They were a friendly, good natured, and good humoured presence in the neighbourhood. That was 47 years ago. We have since moved to Ontario but remember our first neighbours fondly. Bev’s ready smile and unpretentious good will shone through and no doubt live on in the legacy she leaves through Cliff, Sandra, Darren, and the extended family. Our condolences and best wishes to you all. - Posted by: Barry and Ingrid Esselmont (Former neighbours ) on: Jun 20, 2022

  • Our sincere condolences to Sandy & Rich and family on the passing of your mom and grandmother. - Posted by: Tom & Sandra King (Friends) on: Jun 19, 2022

  • Our deepest sympathies Cliff and to your family. We are so sad that Bev has died ..... we will miss her wonderful presence and sense of humour! When we met you both in Cuba many years ago ... it was over our penchant for hand-washing our laundry ... and hanging it out for all to see! My .... how you both ribbed us for that!! Last fall when we visited you in Winnipeg, you gleefully found us a laundromat! Lots of laughs! May your many memories, and family and friends comfort you in these very sad times. Our love and deepest sympathies ... Judy and John - Posted by: Judy and John (Friend) on: Jun 19, 2022

  • My condolences to the Bernhardt family on the passing of your wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Bernhardt always had a smile and a wave as we passed their house. - Posted by: Shelley Demery (Brat from the Neighborhood) on: Jun 18, 2022

  • The night skies just got a whole lot brighter. When we started bowling she became an instant friend. Bert and I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out a few time at her house or mine. We could always count on a good laugh or even just a smile. When I think of her and Cliff sitting on my couch telling us how she destroyed a neighbours garage. I think of how innocent she looked and how funny they made the story, I will always remember that and think of Bev with a smile.. I always thought boy Cliff has a great sense of humour always sending some real funny e-mails only to find it wasn't Cliff it was Bev hiding under the disguise of Cliff. Even though Bev was very sick when you called she was always so upbeat. Bev you are going to missed so much. If you see Jan give her a hug for me. See ya on the other side. Oh and I'll hound Cliff to come back to bowling. Safe journey my friend. We'll miss you. - Posted by: Bert and Roslyn Saurette (Fiend) on: Jun 18, 2022
