HUGH OSCAR RAIKE
September 17, 1936 - June 16, 2022
With heavy hearts, we announce that Hugh, aka Bob, passed away on June 16, 2022, at the age of 85 years.
He is survived by his four children, several grandchildren, and sister Marina, who resides in the United States, along with her family.
Bob loved life, and living within the community at Legion Gardens with fellow veterans provided him with a lot of friends that kept life interesting. People loved to congregate and visit with Bob in his gazebo listening to his Newfie music while hearing his tall tales and his jokes.
We acknowledge that he is now with the love of his life; his wife, Shirley May, and that brings all of us comfort during this time.
The Raike family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by visiting his tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography, as well as memories and stories published by those who knew him, are available there.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Legion Gardens located at 675 Talbot Avenue. Parking is limited. We will be hosting a Barbeque after the Celebration of Life for our father and friend, Bob.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

My sincerest condolences to the Raike family. Bob, you have lived a long and colorful life throughout the years. When I think of you it takes me back to Earl Grey Community Center BINGO . . . I think many of us would wait for your comments about certain numbers when you were calling. My favorite was G Cinquante Cinq but damn, when I needed it you wouldn`t call it. You will be remembered by your friends and former neighbors in the Ft. Rouge area. RIP Bob . . . - Posted by: Sandy Jones (Friend) on: Jul 10, 2022

Bob was a wonderful gentleman and kind hearted he will be missed. It is sad news to members of ANAVETS283. He left and impression in our heart and our mind. As Service Officer I will ensure his name be mentioned on Remembrance Day during Roll Call. His name is up in our Memorial Wall and flags will be at half mass for 4 days. “We Will Remember”.
