WILLIAM LEIMAN


William (Bill) Leiman passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022.
Born and raised in Tyndall, Manitoba, Bill is survived by his loving wife Bonnie; his three children, Brad, Cindy and Greg; his four grandchildren, Nick Shworob, Andrea Shworob, Nicole and Kyle Leiman and great-granddaughter Marlo Leiman.
Bill is predeceased by his grandson Adriel Shworob; his four brothers, Jake (Elsie), George (Janice), Fred (Gladys) and Henry (Lil); his four sisters, Ann Lawson (Jack), Kay MacAulay, Melvina Warren (Norman) and Marjorie Jeske (Eugene).
When Bill moved to Winnipeg, he along with his brother and brother-in-law started the private ambulance service Veterans Prince, Astorian, Irish and Crestview. City of Winnipeg took over in 1975, then Bill started his own business Crestview Medi-Car Service now known as Medi-Van Transportation.
Bill loved to golf, enjoying his many games at Breezy Bend Country Club, his cottage years at Falcon Lake and his trips to Florida in the winter. Bill was a kind and generous man with lots of humour and enjoyed time with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Calvary Place Personal Care Home for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill's memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.

  • I worked for Bill, Henry and Norm Warren as an ambulance driver. I will always remember the time that Bill invited me over to his place for supper. We had a great evening with conversation and a bit of wine. I also seen Bill (after many years) walking through Polo Park Shopping Centre and we acknowledged each other with a friendly greeting.
