JANTJE (JANNY) THYS

1930 - 2022

Peacefully, in her sleep on the morning of July 18, 2022, Janny left us, age 92.
Wife to Hendrick ( Henk ) Thys, deceased, mother to Willis Thys and his wife, Helene, grandmother to Dayle and wife Jen, Michael and wife Monika, Christina and partner, Steve, and she was also a great-grandmother to Ella, Lucy, Will, Quinn and expected September great-grandchild.
Having immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1954, with her new husband Henk, hoping for new opportunities, they proceeded to build a new life together. In 1955, they had a son Willis. In the process of building a life in Canada, they worked hard in everything from apartment block management to market gardening, peddling and finally real estate. Church was an important part of her life till the last days.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Springs Church at 595 Lagimodiere on August 9, 2022, service at 12:00 noon. Viewing will be at 11:30 a.m. There will be a lunch before leaving to Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Jeff Romas will be officiating.
