July 22, 1925 - July 28, 2022
Margaret Wood passed away peacefully at Riverview Hospital.
Maggie, as she was affectionately called, will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jim (Maureen), Coleen (Greg), Jeff (Ronda) and her daughter-in-law Teresa, wife of son Don who passed away in 2010. She was predeceased by her parents from Dundee, Scotland, Alex and Anne Fenton; husband Wilfred and six of her eight siblings. Her two dear surviving sisters, Ina Vaughan and Joyce Ponath will miss her as well as eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Maggie was a stay-at-home mother who was kind and loving to most people she knew. She lived a simple and yet fulfilling life with her family at the center of her universe. Her home was always a warm and welcoming place. Mom was able to stay in the family home until she was recently hospitalized thanks to the immense support from her family, especially her grandson Chad and his wife Lisa. Thanks also to Case Coordinator Deborah Kramer and Aide Paulina and the other workers from Homecare who assisted in the last 14 months.
Cremation has taken place. Margaret will be buried beside 'the love of her life' Wilfred in the field of honour at Brookside Cemetery at a private family gathering at a later date.
