REBECCA ANNE NEPINAK
It is with immense sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear Rebecca Anne Nepinak (Scattering North Winds). Becky came to us on July 2, 1980 and started her journey to the spirit world on October 4, 2022.
Becky is survived by her parents, Clarence and Barbara Nepinak; sisters, Melissa (Brad), Krystin (Mike), Melanie (Darren), adopted sister Pam (Shawn), adopted brother Wayne and many foster sisters, including Sandra, Shauntelle, and Raven to name a few; nieces and nephews, Clinton, Emily, Connor, Ikwance, Ejo, Sqitxlegs, Sadie, our remarkable girl Sophia, Max, Tawakweekwlacw and Damas, with whom she had a very special connection; and countless aunties, uncles and cousins.
Becky was the elegant and surprising combination of having impeccable taste, sometimes impossibly high standards and a streak of being deadly funny. Everyone who knew her knew she had no problem shedding her grace to be comedically silly. She loved to tell stories in hopes of reliving and sharing the joy she had. She was also fiercely dedicated to our family. She would always step up to care for her nieces and nephews, including her special sleepovers with Emily. In the last chapter of her life she took on the traditional role of caring for our parents. We will always be indebted to her for her dedication to them, specifically our father.
We also want to acknowledge her enormous circle of friends who have surrounded us with love and support, including the many calls we received from friends and family all over the world. Our gratitude for you knows no bounds.
The family would like to thank Pine Creek First Nation (of which she was a member), the first responders, the medical examiner, Annette Kohut and other close neighbours who have supported us.
A sacred fire will be lit at our family home on the four days preceding her Celebration of Life, which will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Rebecca. We played indoor soccer together in Toronto a while back and kept connected through Facebook. I was scrolling through my friends list and came accross her name, it suddenly occurred to me I hadn't seen any of her humorous posts in a while...only to read on her page she passed on. I will always remember her warmth and sense of humor - Posted by: Tricia Marcellin (Friend from Toronto ) on: Jan 04, 2024

Dearest Barb and Clarence, We were so sad to read in Saturday's paper of the loss of your beautiful daughter, Rebecca. She was the first person I spoke with when I first called your home to ask for your help with our school community. We know you are surrounded by many loved ones, but we, too, want you to know that you are supported by our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. We can only imagine all the wonderful stories of her life. We know these will always be cherished. With love! My sincere and heartfelt condolences to your loving parents, family, and friends. I was shocked to hear about your passing my dear friend. I was utterly devastated to hear the news today. I will always treasure the times we had together. We had the absolute best times working together at MIEA. Your laugh was infectious, a little mischevious at times and that's what I loved about you. We always laughed throughout our workday no matter if we had a busy day, you made it fun. I will treasure every encounter we had, love you always my friend, you had a heart of gold 💛💛💛💛 you're with the angels now, soar high xoxo Your friend always, Vanessa Dorland - Posted by: Vanessa Dorland (Friend) on: Oct 16, 2022

We are very taken back by the death of Becky. She was a true princess. She welcomed my family with open arms when we moved across the street from them five years ago. Becky always had a beautiful smile and we had some good talks when things where good and things where bad. I don't know we just hit it off the first day. May god keep her safe and in his arms. Rest in Peace Becky. Your work in heaven just begins. Our condolences to the entire family and may god bless all of you. Until we meet again in heaven. - Posted by: william cook / william hong (neighbour) on: Oct 08, 2022
