DOROTHY RAE BLAIR
(nee DONALD)
January 9, 1927 - October 14, 2022
Dorothy passed away peacefully on October 14, 2022 at the age of 95 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Glen; parents, William and Mabel Donald; brothers, Bill and Frank; and sisters, Jean Greves and Catherine McAskill. She is survived by her sister Shirley Marks of Summerland, BC; children, Gary (Kim), Candace (John), Ian (Sandy), Grant (Sue), and Deena (Shane); grandchildren, Jade (Jon), Kirsty (Nord), Eric, Melaina (Brandon), and Devin (Michael); great-grandchildren, Hunter, Cohen, Cassidy, and Carson; and many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces.
Dorothy was raised on a family farm south of Morris, Manitoba; during the Great Depression. Along with her five siblings, she learned the value of hard work, cooperation and determination. When her dad died, the farm was sold and the family moved to Morris. After high school, Dorothy moved to Winnipeg and became an RN, training at St. Boniface Hospital. She later went on to become a flight attendant with TransCanada Airlines. She married Glen in 1952 and they raised their five children in East Kildonan. They lived together in their home into their 90s. Dorothy loved curling, golfing and get-togethers with family and friends. Dorothy and Glen travelled the world and are now together forever. She was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank the personal care staff of St. Joseph's Personal Care Home, The Arbours, Harmony Court, and St. Boniface and Misericordia Hospitals.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.

Glen and Dorothy were neighbors of ours for 56 years. They were both great. Glen was our TV repair man and Dorothy our neighbourhood nurse if we wanted any advice. Be proud of them both. - Posted by: Gord and Nina Duke (Neighbour’s ) on: Oct 26, 2022

I’m so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I felt for each of you too when your Dad passed. I have memories of time in school and when my Dad worked with yours and Ian, of you, when you took over Tip Top from Percy. My heart is with you all. 💐 - Posted by: Sherry Sorensen Funk (Friend, school mate) on: Oct 25, 2022

Condolences & Sympathy to the family for the loss of such a gentle soul as Dorothy. I know the past couple of years have been very hard for all of you, with the passing of Glen and Dottie’s illness. I like to think of them together in peace now. No words are ever enough when we lose those who mean so much to us. Just know I share in your sorrow and remember the good times. Emile and I had many happy times with both of them and although I truly miss those days, I am so grateful to have had them. Hugs to all of you and I’ll say a prayer for them, and you. - Posted by: Isla Touchette & family (Friend) on: Oct 22, 2022
