RENATE MARIA DREGER
July 7, 1938 November 4, 2022
After a brief illness, we are saddened to announce the passing of beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Renate Maria Dreger at age 84 on Friday, November 4, 2022.
Renate is survived by her precious and devoted husband Dieter with whom she shared the better part of 55 years in marriage. She is also survived by her sons, Harald and Andreas (Diane); her grandchildren, Yvonne and Jeremy and their respective families. Renate also has numerous surviving relatives living in Germany including her sisters, Constance and Christa.
Renate was predeceased by her parents, Hans and Erna and in-laws, Leo and Emma; along with many aunts and uncles. We are also faithful that her late and beloved daughter-in-law Elaine (2021), acted as her spirit guide to help mom cross to the other side.
Mom was born in Furth in Bayern, Germany where she met and married Dieter in 1967. They immigrated to Canada in 1969 with their two sons. Mom spent most of her career in the garment industry working for the family business. Renate's T-Shirt Shop was founded in 1980 until it was sold in 2018.
Renate was also gracious and giving having donated blood to the Red Cross no less than 150 times. She was known for her quick wit (in both English and German) and loved thinking of herself as the Queen of Rock 'n Roll. Her dancing ability back in the day with husband Dieter was a sight to behold.
In her latter years, she and Dieter enjoyed trips to North Bay and Sudbury to visit Harald and his family. She also loved visiting her grand fur-babies Monty, Bella, Sasha, Luna and Cassi who were always ready to give and receive smooches.
We wish to thank the incredible and supportive staff at Grace Hospital who helped her through the last few days of her time with us.
No formal funeral service will be held.
Miss You! Love You! Meine geliebte Mutter, Ich werde dich im Himmel wiedersehsehen.

Heartfelt condolences to Renate's family. Renate was a joyful, exuberant lady who lived life on her terms. I enjoyed the few times I was in her presence. I know she's catching up with Elaine in the next level and they are having a ball (and a smoke). - Posted by: Suzanne Queen (Extended family and friend) on: Nov 12, 2022
