WANDA ANN-MARIE SCAMMELL
Passed away peacefully after a brief illness with family and friends on November 30, 2022 at Health Science Centre at the age of 75.
She was predeceased by so many loving family and friends. They all have been tremendously missed by her over the years. We take comfort knowing that she will be reunited with each and everyone of them.
Wanda is survived by her two daughters, Tracey and Viesha, their husbands and children. She also survived by her grandson Clarence which she shared a very special bond with. She will be a void in his life and forever missed. If we could write a story about Wanda it would be the best one ever written. If we could write a million words they could never say how much you will be missed.
She also leaves behind many friends who's friendships she cherished deeply over the decades. Her dear friend Joanie said it best "see you again my friend".
Thank you to the staff at Health Sciences Centre for making Wanda comfortable in your care. An enormous hug and kiss to Kris and Joanie for all your love and support. Wanda loved you both!
There will be a private family interment for Wanda. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. Wanda would expect to have everyone attend her celebration of life, as getting together and sharing stories with her friends would bring her great joy.

I met Wanda when she was the bartender at the concord I was 18 and she took me under her wing and made sure I was always taken care of. Over the years we always kept in touch used to drink a few and some parties with other friends. Have seen her for the last ten years or more over at friends place or her place I think on Cathedral then at her place on Keewatin. I briefly dated her daughter even whose passing was a huge loss for everyone. Wanda will be one of the oldest friends I still was lucky enough to go for coffee or she would come to our place. I think like 5ish years ago she came over for a Christmas dinner where she brought us a beautiful blanket that we treasure . I was there when she came to see me about her grandaughters passing. She is a beautiful soul that me and Mandy miss . We always talk about her and how sad it was for her nephew to give us the news. Never again with there be a tougher women and a huge heart. She was one of my very good friends, I used to call her My Wanda every time I saw her, “there’s my Wanda!” She always shared her hugs!
