I was very saddened to hear of Andrew's passing. He and I first became acquainted while having coffee at the Falafel Place on Academy and this would be going back to 1986. We did not talk much for many years but there were numerous times that he and I were the only two people in the place, he sitting at one end of the counter and me at the other - he smoked then and I didn't. Over the years we spoke more often but really started talking a lot more when the Falafel Place moved to the Corydon and Wilton location. At that point Andrew still had his place staked out at the counter where he would work on the crossword and the cryptoquote. I had established my usual table by then and every once in a while, when he wasn't verbally sparring with Ami, he would wander over to share his opinions about things. He never hesitated to share his opinion. He also shared stories about growing up in Point Douglas, being an alter boy, going to St. Paul's and his various management positions, like the Garrick Theatre. This routine continued for years but was disrupted by Covid and I never saw him at the Falafel Place after that, although I would see him once in a while driving on Corydon. Rest in Peace Andrew, we saw each other five days a week or so for over thirty years, and it is very strange to actually get in the last word. - Posted by: Tod Christianson (Coffee Shop Crony) on: Oct 21, 2023

Eugene & I are so sad to hear that Andrew is no longer with us. He was a great friend to Eugene and they had many interesting conversations. Eugene missed his Saturday breakfasts with his buddy Andrew. We send love to Irene and all the family. Gwen and Eugene - Posted by: Gwen Satran (friend ) on: Jan 07, 2023
