Werner was my supervisor for a very short time when I worked at the Cindy Klassen Recreational Complex. He was one of the kindest person anyone could know. There needs to be more people like him in this world. Condolences to the family, rest in peace Werner - Posted by: Stacey (Coworker ) on: Jul 02, 2023

Sending our deepest condolences to Werner's family. Werner was our neighbour on Brewster St. Although he was much older than I was, he was always kind to me and was someone I looked up to. I remember seeing him in the different flyers as a model and we thought that was pretty special. His mom and dad, my Aunty Magda and Uncle Walter, would often let us swim in their pool and I would see Werner coming and going and he always had a kind word to share with the kids in the neighbourhood. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. With deepest sympathy, Lisa Rand - Posted by: Lisa Rand (Neighbour on Brewster St.) on: Apr 08, 2023

We grew up with Werner and his parents as our neighbours in Transcona. He was like a big brother to us kids, and willing to help my Mom with anything she needed. Werner was a great guy and I’m saddened by his passing… - Posted by: Glenn Rand (Neighbour and friend ) on: Apr 08, 2023

I was saddened to hear of Werner’s passing. I worked with him at E.K. Pool in the 80’s and 90’s. He was a great boss, and have many fond memories. The best memory I have is the year we went to our annual grand forks trip in November of 1986. There was a huge snow storm and they closed the border after our bus went through. We were stranded in grand forks the entire weekend and we had to stay an extra day. I called Werner to let him know I wouldn’t make it back for work. The funniest part is (all the cashiers) there was no one to go in and open up the pool as we were all stranded in the US as well as a couple of Pool attendants. When we got back to the city, we found out Winnipeg had way more snow and the pool couldn’t open anyway. I remember him saying, “Under no circumstances will all you girls be able to go away for the same weekend EVER again.” We had many many laughs over this, for many many years……. You will be missed. - Posted by: Terry-Lynne Hause (Welling/Skorodenski) (Co-worker) on: Apr 08, 2023
