You could always see Betty smiling or laughing about something! Betty was a team player and if she couldn't actually be 'On the team', she supported the team 1001%. In the winter time Me, Henry and Rob played Broom-ball at different community centers in and around Winnipeg and Betty would come out to watch us play and stand on the tall snow banks (Sometimes -25 Fahrenheit) cheering us on AND, if ever you wanted a 'Cheer leader' Betty was the most boisterous one there, if you gave her 'Boys' are hard time Betty let you and everyone else know about it, She was HARD on the refs. During and after the games she would always make sure we had an orange or hot chocolate to keeps us going and when we played in a few tournaments [and won] Betty would say: "The bash it at the McDonalds!" Betty would put on a spread like no other and we'd enjoy every bit of it too! I met Betty McDonald through my mom Pat Vidalin at Dominion Stores where they both worked my mom and Betty became very good friends and that’s where I met her husband Henry and her son Rob that’s how we became friends. My life was a better place knowing Betty McDonald; she was such a super lady. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the whole McDonald family for such a Hugh loss to your family.
