With heavy hearts, we announce that Karin passed away on Monday July 3, 2023, at the age of 73 years.

She is survived by her son Lee (Rebecca); grandchildren, Genevieve, Tristan and Hayden; and brother Ken (Sharon).

Karin was a director and founding member of the Firefighters Historical Society of Winnipeg, she worked with the Firefighters’ Burn Fund and was their hostess for the Annual Charity Ball from its inception until she retired after 32 years at headquarters with the Winnipeg Fire Department.

After retirement Karin was active with the Royal Canadian Legion, thrifting on weekends and line dancing two or three nights a week, she could often be found gardening or baking.

Karin found joy in sewing, knitting and embroidery with the Winnipeg Embroiderers’ Guild.

A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (First Unitarian Universalist Church).

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Manitoba Fire Fighters Burn Fund would be appreciated.
