ROSEMARY SARAH LILLIAN WLADYKA

It is with great sadness we announce that our beloved Rosemary Wladyka unexpectedly passed away in the early morning of July 16, 2023, with her husband and family by her side.

Left to mourn this tragic loss are her children, Deborah (Robert), Robert (Fatima), Brenda (Randy), Joyce, and David (Roberta); sisters, Gloria and Judy; brothers, Wayne (Selda) and Ralph (Susan); along with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom mourn her untimely passing. She will also be so tragically missed by her many friends, especially Joanne (Ron), Leeha (John), Cheryl, and Gwen (Pete); and by her many neighbours, all of whom she cared about and loved over the years.

She will be especially missed by her ever devoted and loving husband William, who worshipped the ground she walked upon over their 52-plus years together.

Rosemary was born in Nova Scotia and came from a large family and had 11 siblings. She was kind, warm, loving, and a very giving person and was so very proud of all her children. She worked hard but always made time for her family, friends, and all the people and special times in her life.

She will always be forever remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend by so many.

She worked alongside her husband for many years but still had time to undertake several successful additional careers over the years, such as becoming a real estate agent and even a motel manager for a time.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and the emergency responders who got her there for their wonderful, immediate, and compassionate care.

To respect Rosemary’s stated wishes there will be no formal services or funeral. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to any no-kill animal shelter rescue or humane society, or to the Canadian Lung Association.

Rosemary’s family requests that you visit her tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography as well as memories and stories published by those who knew her are available there.

PLEASE REST IN PEACE MY LOVELY AND LOVING WIFE.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Rose will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her. She lived her life to the fullest. She was fierce and ambitious, living life on her own terms. She would have coffee every morning at the kitchen window waiting for the birds, squirrels and bunnies to come up to window to say hello. She even had names for each and every one of them. Rose was a great cook, but not a pie maker - although the filling was delicious. Rose was kind and generous, always doing the right thing. She will be deeply missed by the ones she has left behind. - Posted by: Robert and Fatima (Son and daughter-in-law ) on: Aug 01, 2023

  • My sincere condolences to you William and family. I lived across the street from the family in Waverley Heights and I went to school with Joyce at Vincent Massey. You are a very kind and loving family. I am so sorry for your loss. Grace - Posted by: Grace (friend) on: Jul 31, 2023

  • A feisty old bird, right to the end; that’s what comes to mind when I think of my grandmother. Her love for her family was as fierce and deep as her eyes were blue. As a child I loved sleepovers at Gram’s place; my fondest memories are of evening walks, eating chocolates at night in the kitchen and looking through photo albums, followed by mornings of crispy “blackened” pancakes cooked in shortening. As a parent now, I can imagine the challenges around packing up the kids and heading out to Gram’s place; but Gram’s place was where we all gathered as a family - for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. My childhood memories are of the adults chatting around the dining table and my brother and I playing with our cousins. These are very happy memories and I like to think Gram can see them from where she is now, whether that be from above or just in our hearts. You will be forever missed Gram, we love you!
