MILDRED ALICE RICHARDS

April 4, 1923 - July 23, 2023

Mildred (Millie) passed peacefully in her sleep in her 100th year.

She was predeceased by her parents Ethel and Andrew Byman, her three brothers George, Bill, and Bert, and her son Bruce.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Terry Millar), her grandson son Trevor (Amber Dykes), granddaughter Kimberley (Mario Pereira), and great-grandchildren Isabella, Aiden, and Hunter.

We recently had a lovely celebration of her life at her 100th birthday. We have decided to have a private gathering for the interment of both her and Bruce in the early fall as was their wishes.

Millie was a single parent for many years and worked hard to raise her two children. She worked in the accounting field for various companies, with her most valued job being the years she spent with the VON.

Millie loved to laugh and spend time with family and friends. She had a quick wit and sense of humor that we shall not forget.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. I remember how strong she was and how devoted she was to her family. I fondly recall her sense of humor and her vibrant laugh. - Posted by: Cathy Hall (Friend) on: Aug 14, 2023

  • My condolences Brenda. I was away and just caught up on obits today. Will remember Millie as a very nice neighbour, though seldom saw her outside to chat. Super that she made it to the 100 mark. We sure cant expect much more than that. It seemed important to her to send out those Christmas cards, though I fear I was lax in the last few years in returning them. Christmas was so important to her and your brother. - Posted by: Roberta Beach (neighbour) on: Aug 10, 2023
