LEOKARDIA (CONNIE) KLUGER
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved family matriarch (Oma) Connie Kluger.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Herbert; son Harold (Kelly) and their sons Andrew (Amelia) and Daniel (Keana); and son Lenard. She is also survived by family in Germany.
Connie was born of German descent in Poland, the eldest daughter of eight children. During the Second World War, her family was forced to flee the country in a horse drawn wagon. The family eventually settled in the beautiful Lueneburg Heide in Dohle, Germany. Connie came to Canada in 1958 where she met the love of her life and best friend, Herbert. They married in 1960 and spent many happy years raising their family in Fort Rouge.
Connie’s family was the most important thing in the world to her. They enjoyed spending time camping and going on whirlwind road trips with the boys. Some of her most cherished memories were being at the cottage in Winnipeg Beach with everyone. Connie was the strongest woman you could ever meet and that strength will live on in every member of her family.
The family would like to thank all the staff on 4E at St. Boniface Hospital who provided warm and compassionate care to Connie in her final days.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday August 19th at 10:00 A.M. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, preceded by a private family interment.

Mrs. Kluger (sorry, that's how the memories always begin) was a fixture of my late high school days. Len and I hung out a lot and as a result I spent a fair amount of time at the Kluger household. It was always a generous place to be. Very welcoming and on some of those 'morning afters' very understanding! Connie seemed a very happy person to me and even when I last saw her and Herb during a chance meeting grocery shopping they were the same happy folks. Lots of good memories were triggered when I heard of Connie's passing. Never good when these things happens but hopefully in time the positive memories replace the sense of of loss. My thoughts to family. - Posted by: Andrew Enns (Friend) on: Aug 24, 2023
