Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I had such a huge respect for Glen Mccabe. He helped me talk through a lot of hurt & issues from my childhood years and while going through my divorce. He was an exceptional counsellor and person. God bless you Dr. McCabe. - Posted by: Lucille Meilleur (former patient) on: Jan 23, 2024

  • I will always remember Dr. Glen McCabe ❤️❤️ He was my university professor for my course: Theories in Counselling Psychology. His wisdom and humour and charisma will always have a special place in my heart. May he rest in peace and enjoy his Heavenly home. To Silvia, Lara and Vanessa - I hope you find Glen through everything you do, in this Earthly realm ❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🌹 - Posted by: Janelle Pantel (Student in the counselling psychology graduate program ) on: Nov 05, 2023

  • We were so very sad to hear of Glen's passing. We met Sylvia and Glen approximately 12 years ago when they became our 'upstairs' neighbours in Crescentwood. We have so many wonderful memories from during the time they lived in our building and after they moved away. Over the years, we got to know their family and some of their friends, who are all wonderful. Our hearts go out to Sylvia, Vanessa, Lara and the entire family. We will never forget Glen for the wonderful guy he was, for his wisdom and his musical talent. RIP dear friend! - Posted by: Joann and Rod Mattern (Friends and former neighbours) on: Sep 01, 2023

  • We are so sad to hear that our dear friend Glen has passed. We have so many wonderful memories of times spent with Glen & Sylvia. Watching our Winnipeg Jets games together, going for picnics at the Half Moon Restaurant, spa days at Temple Gardens and so much more. We will always cherish the wonderful times we got to hear Glen perform his beautiful music at some local café’s. He was such a talented man in so many ways. Our hearts go out to our dear Sylvia, her daughter Vanessa, Glen’s daughter Lara and his entire family. Hugs to you all. • Glen's impact was, and is, immeasurable. With his humour, wisdom, perspective, and compassion, a three-hour evening class would absolutely fly by. What a gift. - Posted by: Deb McAlpine (student) on: Aug 25, 2023

  • I was so sorry to hear of Glen's recent passing. He was a fine man and a trusted colleague. For many years, we worked side by side in the Department of Educational Administration, Foundations and Psychology in the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba. During that time, I knew Glen as a kind, gentle, and supportive professor and colleague who always looked for the good in people, regardless of the circumstances. His commitment to his Counselling Psychology area group and the many students who pursued graduate degrees in that area will be remembered for many years to come. My sincere condolences to Sylvia and the rest of his family. David Mandzuk - Posted by: David Mandzuk (Colleague) on: Aug 24, 2023

  • It was so sad to hear of Glen's passing. Truly a great friend. When we grew up together I called him Harvey, and to this day I still sometimes refer to him as Harvey. We were born 2 days apart at St. Joseph's Hospital (on the corner of Pritchard and Salter Avenues) and my mother told me that she was in the hospital for 4 days after I was born on June 16th. So Harvey and I have always joked about knowing each other from the day we were born (Harvey was born on June 18th). Our deepest sympathies to Sylvia and Glen's family. Many people will surely miss him, including me and Phyllis. - Posted by: Barry Pittman (Life long friend) on: Aug 21, 2023

  • Was so sorry to learn of Glen’s passing. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Dave rodgers (Cousin) on: Aug 19, 2023
