• I remember Glen who was known as Harvey during our elementary days at King Edward School as well as his two sisters. We were not in the same class although we are the same age. They walked past my grandpa's barber shop on Selkirk Ave. frequently but I was never aware of his struggling status. I saw Glen perform at a U. of W. reunion of my class where he was with Sylvia. What a pleasant surprise. To read of his accomplishments is truly amazing. I was unaware that he had married Ionna who was in my year at Sisler. I am so very sad to learn of a life gone far too soon. • Glen was a kind and gentle soul who truly left the world a better place. His soft voice, his intelligence, patience, and eagerness to listen made him an absolute delight at any gathering that I was blessed enough to attend. He always encouraged everyone around him to be involved, to speak, to engage in the conversation, always energizing the discussion in a better, more positive way. He was a wonderful teacher, a leader and promoter of the thoughtful contemplation of ideas. I believe Glen was a natural born educator. How fitting it was that he became a professor. And then there was his gift of music. The lyrics of his songs still live in my memory in spite of the many years that have passed since I listened to him play his guitar and sing. When I think of Glen, I feel a warmth and calmness. I feel grateful that I was touched by his charm, his wit, and his goodness. We will all miss Glen.
