Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN CAMPBELL THOMPSON
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean on September 22, 2023.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2019, and her parents and siblings in Scotland.
She leaves to mourn daughter Sheena (Bill) Graham and daughter Rae (Milt) Jones along with grandchildren, Bryan (Fiona) Graham, Scott Graham, Amanda Roth and Geoffrey (Leah) Roth. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kaylana, Geoffrey, Jahnaya, Micah, Eli, Lily, Parker and Elin as well as nieces and nephews.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Family was her whole life. Mum had a true spirit of kindness and generosity and would be the first to help anyone in need. She was the eighth child born to parents, William and Henrietta, and grew up with seven sisters and three brothers in Scotland.
Jean was born in Netherton, Scotland and married Bill Thompson in 1951. They were together for 68 years before Dad’s passing. One of their many trips was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on a scenic train trip to British Columbia and of course trips back across the pond to visit family.
Jean had beautiful handwriting and her first job was working as a draftsman in a printer office. She loved to sing in the church choir at St. James Presbyterian Church and was a member of the St. James Legion #4 and was always asked to sing at the Veteran Memorial November 11th ceremony every year.
Jean emigrated to Winnipeg with husband Bill and daughters, Sheena and Rae in April 1968 where they enjoyed a wonderful life with family and great friends.
We would like to thank Dr. David Breckman and his assistant Nicole for a lifetime of care. Thank you also to the 5th floor staff at Gold West Centennial Lodge and a special thank you to nurse Darcie for their care of Mum in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or a charity of choice.
Private interment has taken place.

I'm sorry to hear of Jean's passing. Bill and Jean were the kindness Scots I have ever met! I had met them when Bill when he would come into my ER. A pleasure interacting with them. They are both missed! - Posted by: Jen (Health care aide) on: Sep 30, 2023
