Surrounded by her children, our maman peacefully passed away in Foyer Valade during the first hour of September 27, 2023, at 100 years of age.
Hortense is survived by her children, Susan (Grant) Dugard, Lucille Canart, and Evelyn (Kirk) Dutka; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings Marcelle Dupont, Rita Johnson, and Germain Jeanson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Julien; son Rene; parents Antonin Jeanson and Anastasie Savoie; and siblings, Clovis, Roland, Alice Olson, Philippe, Gerald, and Arthur.
Hortense’s formative years were spent in Lorette with her large family whom she loved dearly. She spent her adult years teaching in various schools throughout rural Manitoba.
Cremation has taken place, a Celebration of Life will be held on October 16, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy.
