KENNETH G. CARLSON

Kenneth passed peacefully on October 22, 2023, with love all around him.
Ken is survived by his sister Elaine; his son Lee; grandchildren, Evan and Averie; first wife Colleen; second wife Lynn; children, Deanna and Bill; and granddaughter McKenzie Hunnie; along with nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Jessie and Howard and brother Keith Carlson. Ken was a kind and loving man to both his families and was always there for us. We are better people for having him in our lives.
Ken was born in Winnipeg on May 15, 1950. He grew up in the west end attending General Wolfe and Daniel McIntyre. He loved his motorcycles and playing pool. Some of his favorite times were spent at Falcon and Granite Lake with friends and family. Most of all Ken loved to relax around the pool at home.
Ken worked at Boeing for 37 years, forming many long-lasting friendships. After retirement he took up golf, curling and camping with his amigos. He got to travel but when home, his hangout was the Spike in Transcona.
Thank you, Lynn, and Deanna, for the care and love you gave Ken in his last months. Ken was an inspiration to us all. He never lost his sense of humor, always smiling and laughing through what he called “his journey.”
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at a later date, at the Spike as Ken wished.

Forever Loved.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • We will never forget Ken. He used to pop in to Smittys on Friday nights when he and his friends were in this neck of the woods (Portage and Westwood). He was a bright flame in a mundane world, always a smile on his face and livening up the conversation at our table with his infectuos humour...Happy trails Ken, we will raise a glass or two to you . You were one of a kind... - Posted by: Michael & Sandra Hickey (Friends) on: Oct 31, 2023

  • I am so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. We go back to our High School days, along with several other West Ender friends whom we all hung out with for many years! As life has it, we all moved on in our journeys, taking with me a great appreciation for the moments of camaraderie we all had together! I always admired Ken's sense of humor & his mellow but straight forward approach to life! I will be always grateful for the memories!! To Kens family, please accept my heartfelt condolences at this sad time. May you find comfort & peace in God's Grace. Carol Miller (friend) - Posted by: Carol Miller (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2023
