Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT JOHN EDWARD MCCARTNEY
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John. We will miss his love of a good joke, generous soul, and dedication to spiritual growth.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Joyce, along with his daughter Lisa (Randy), daughter Diane (David), granddaughter Kelsey (Joe), granddaughter Holly (Ryan) and great-granddaughter Emmy. John is also mourned by his sister Edie (Larry), many nieces and nephews, in addition to his friends, and neighbors at 'the manor'.
John was predeceased by his father, Albert, mother Mary (Twerdun), as well as his brothers Ken, Max (Eileen), and Bert (Irene).
John was self-employed for most of his career, having run several successful businesses including The Wedding Lounge in Winnipeg. He was an avid gardener who loved walking in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed playing snooker, bowling, and the VLTs with his friends. John's number one priority was his family. He was never more fulfilled than when he had his loved ones surrounding him.
Funeral services will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. A gathering will take place immediately following the service, at Stonewall Legion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

With sincere condolences to Joyce and family for your loss. John was such a thoughtful cousin who called me in British Columbia every now and then just to say Hello and to see how I was doing. I too shall miss him and wish we could have got together one last time for a game of pool. I loved to challenge him but certainly he was and is a Winner! R.I.P. my dear cousin, Love you........Rose - Posted by: Rose Labrenz (Barker) (Cousin) on: Oct 28, 2023

John was a customer and friend to both Don and I when we owned Stonewall Tire and Quarry Bowling Lanes. He always had a smile and something humorous to say. We always looked forward to the visits, whether they were to come in for repairs or attend league, but mostly when they were just to come in for a chat and to say "Hi". John's love for his family, especially Joyce, was remarkable. He enjoyed sharing stories of their driving trips to visit family during holiday times. I will always fondly remember the phone calls he would make to me (Tracey) during Covid restriction days, for updates when bowling would return or just to call to see how I was doing. Joyce would pick up the other phone to join in, John always lovingly adding something sweet and funny to say to her. Please accept our deepest condolences to your family. RIP John and we hope you are enjoying your best bowling game ever and sipping on your favourite beer. - Posted by: Tracey and Don Addison (Friends) on: Oct 28, 2023
