JOAO LUIS PACHECO
It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Joao (John) Pacheco on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the age of 73 years.
Joao is survived by his wife Alda, sons, Luis (Laurie), Arnaldo and daughter Gorete (Dan), six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Maria Simao, Dulcina Tavares, Silvina Frias, Carminda Cabral, Nelia (Joe) Cabral and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was predeceased by his parents, Manuel and Iria Pacheco.
Joao was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal and came to Canada on February 12, 1967. He enjoyed playing the accordion, entertaining friends and family, spending time outdoors hunting and relaxing at the Portuguese Park.
Prayers will be said on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin St. N. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation may be made in memory of Joao to CancerCare Manitoba, Cancercare.mb.ca
