GRACE LESSARD
With sadness we announce the passing of Grace on November 6, 2023, at age 97.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Kim Gray (Randy); granddaughter Jennifer Gray; and brother Don Purdey. Grace was predeceased by her husband Tom, and granddaughter Shannon Trachtenberg (Gray).
Grace was born in Saskatchewan but lived most of her life in Winnipeg. She was an avid golfer, bowler, and badminton player where she made many wonderful friends over the years. Her fondest memories will be of her time on the golf course with the Charleswood and Tuxedo Ladies.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Charleswood Care Centre for their kindness and care over the last two years.
Grace will be missed by her family and friends for her sense of humour and her always-smiling face.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.
Memorial donations may be made in Grace’s name to The Shannon Gray Memorial Award for Nurses at RRC Polytech.

I was so grateful and SAD to hear from Kim Gray, about our Aunt Grace, after many years of wondering about her health and well being. My father, Don Purdey, who is now 99, (last surviving brother to Grace), and his wife Bobbie now 93, were also grateful and SAD for the call, when they learned that it was a peaceful passing. Time does not change the family bonds, that were so strong as Don and Grace grew up in Saskatchewan as close siblings, later both lived in Winnipeg, and both families celebrated special events in the Purdey clan. We have shared the news with Kim's cousins in Saskatchewan, Hamilton and in BC. We ALL send our deepest condolences to Kim, Randy, and Jennifer. I am so confident that our Aunt Grace is reunited with her Purdey Family in Heaven, as I knew her faith was as strong and as real as her bright smile. Blessings to the Gray family and the Lessard family, from the Purdey Clan. - Posted by: Douglas Purdey (Nephew) on: Nov 26, 2023

Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of your Mom and Grandmother. May all of your special memories with your Mom bring you much comfort now and always. - Posted by: Susan Lessard-Friesen and Rick Friesen (niece) on: Nov 24, 2023
