It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Kudla on November 13, 2023, at the age of 99.
Walter immigrated to Canada from Ukraine at the age of 30. Walter settled in Portage La Prairie, where he made a career working for the CN rail and traveling across Manitoba for work. Walter developed his skills as a mechanic and used these skills throughout his life to help others. Years later, Walter settled in Winnipeg where he married his late wife Helen who gave birth to their only son Ken.
Walter was a hardworking and generous individual with a unique sense of humor. Even at 99 years old, Walter maintained his independence at home. Cooking, cleaning, and maintaining his garden helped contribute to his longevity and health.
Walter is survived by his son Ken, daughter-in-law Myra, grandchildren AJ and Roman(Elis), and his great-grandson Jackson.
A Service will be held on Wednesday November 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
