CD. (retired)
We lost our kind and loving father and our mom’s devoted husband of 70 years on November 27, 2023 at the age of 96.
We miss him so much and hoped he would be in our lives forever. He loved to be busy in his workshop creating and painting woodwork or using his 3D printers. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, gardening, reading, dabbling with technology, and so much more.
Patrick was born in Winnipeg on May 20, 1927. He received his education at Marne and Ashern Schools. He worked for Kurbis and Anderson and Ashern Freighters before leaving Ashern to join the Canadian Armed Forces.
Patrick served in the CAF (RCEME & LORE) from 1950 to 1979. His tours of duty included Korea 1952, Germany, and Canadian Forces Bases Winnipeg, Victoria, Montréal, Quebec City, Petawawa, Borden, and Kingston. Patrick was in charge of the weapons range in the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
Upon retirement Patrick started Portcraft Engraving & Trophies which he retired from in 1992 and then took up woodworking as his new hobby.
He belonged to the RCEME Prairie Vets Association, the Charleswood Legion Branch 100, and ANAF Vets Unit 283.
Patrick is survived by the love of his life wife Evelyn, daughters Patricia and Lois (Rick) and his very dear cousin Bev.
Patrick was very proud of his Icelandic and Irish heritage.

He was a landlord to us for three years but he was also a friend every time we saw him over the years. He was a good man. - Posted by: marvin fetch (friend and renter (1974-1977) on Stewart st.) on: Dec 03, 2023
