JAMES BOYD STUART
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Jim.
Jim is survived by his partner of 25 years, Judy Davis; son Jim (Jo-Anne); daughter Karen (Theo); son Mike (Paula); and grandchildren, Janine, Russell, Brent, Shelby, Jenna, Kelsey, and Cooper.
The youngest child of John Russell Stuart (Selkirk, MB) and Ina Carroll Carmicheal (Edinburgh, Scotland), Jim grew up with his sister Sandra and brother Jack in Winnipeg on Mulvey Avenue and later moved to Oak Street with his parents as a teenager.
Following in his Scottish maternal grandfather’s footsteps, as a young man, Jim, along with his brother Jack, bought McCullough Printing (Stuart Printing) where Jim would build a lifelong career.
Jim had many interests including a love of classic cars, 50s and 60s music, animals, travel, ice skating, roller skating, the Blue Bombers, ballroom dancing and enjoyed summers in Vancouver and at Victoria and Winnipeg Beach.
A private family service and a celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Colorado Estates.
Jim’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Ethical Death Care for the beautiful photo-biography video they have provided in celebration of Jim's life. This can be watched by following the "tributes" link at the bottom of this obituary. Sincere thanks also to the doctors, nurses, and support personnel at Grace General Hospital, Simkin Center, Charleswood Care Center and Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts for their exemplary care.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to ANAVETS Unit #283 (3584 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, R2K 0Z8), Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter (petrescueshelter.com), or Winnipeg Humane Society (winnipeghumanesociety.ca).
