Peacefully, at the West Park Manor Personal Care Home, Edith passed away at the age of 92 years.
She is survived by her son Brian (Kelly); granddaughter Jenna (Justin); brother-in-law Herbert; and sister-in-law Elizabeth; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Henry and brother Hans.
Born in Achtrup, Germany in 1931, Edith moved to Canada in 1952, following Henry who arrived the previous year. Trained as a Seamstress, Edith worked in the garment trade in Winnipeg until the birth of her son, when she set up shop in her home, doing everything from alterations to grad dresses and entire bridal parties. Edith and Henry were able to enjoy the cottage they built near Minaki, Ontario for nearly 50 years, and as well spent many enjoyable winters in Florida.
Special thanks to Linda and many other friends including Anne and Betty, and to the staff at West Park Manor.
A private graveside service will be held at Green Acres Cemetery.

Doug and I are so sorry to hear this news about Edith. We thoroughly enjoyed our years spent having Edith and Henry as neighbours. Very kind and friendly and always had time for a chat. My condolences on the passing of your mom. I miss the daily chats with her on my way down the hall at West Park Manor to see my mom. I was saddened to see her room empty after she passed. I hadn’t realized she was fading and had thought she’d bounce back. You were a good son for coming so often to spend time with her. I didn’t realize she was from Germany. I speak German.
