Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY DAASE
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Daase on Dec 1, 2023 at the age of 82, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Remaining to cherish Harry’s memory are his loving wife, Adelle Yanuszewski, his sons Jason (Tammy) and Justin (Elena) grandchildren Danielle, Jackson, and Shayle, stepson John and stepdaughter Maureen.
Harry is survived by his brother Eli and an extended family of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Albert, his mother Margaret, his sister Hilde and his stepmother Maria.
Harry was born in Boren, Poland and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1952. He grew up in the West End of Winnipeg and attended Hugh John MacDonald School and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
Harry obtained a master’s degree in social work and joined the Province of Manitoba Department of Family Services for 37 years until retirement. He held positions in financial services, child welfare, adoptions and post adoptions. Throughout his career he brought skill, integrity, compassion, and advocacy to the people he served.
Harry was a loving and devoted father to “his boys”. Many of his most enjoyable moments were spent with his grandchildren from the day they were born to the adventures he had with them. It gave him great joy to see them growing into kind and loving young adults.
Harry was a man of special interest and talents. He was a handyman and builder whenever called upon. He loved the outdoors whether gardening, camping in his trailer in the Whiteshell, enjoying the cottage and picking blueberries and mushrooms. He loved sailing on his laser. Harry’s interests included road trips with Adelle, cruises with their friends and attending concerts in the winter.
The family would like to thank the fifth floor team units 5 and 7 at Seven Oaks Hospital as well as Ademar of Drake Medox for the compassionate care given to Harry. Special thanks to Karen E. Toole for her comforting words and support.
In lieu of flowers donations honouring Harry’s memory can be made to U-Turn Parkinson’s.

I have known Harry when I was a client at Health & Social Development,on Portage Ave,in the 70"s. Harry was a very nice man, he truly cared, and went out of his way to help others. When I became an adult, we still remained friends, met for many coffees, and even had long chats on the phone. I will miss Harry, he gave me guidance when I was having problems, and was always there for me. He was a real nice person. My condolences to Adele. Goodbye Harry - rest in peace my friend. -James Middleton- - Posted by: JAMES MIDDLETON (Ex client & friend.) on: Dec 02, 2023
