Anne Froese, 95, of Winnipeg, passed away December 1, 2023, at Salem Home in Winkler. The youngest of new immigrants Abram and Tina Bergmann's nine children, she grew up in the Steinbach area, joining the MB church there. For Grades 11 and 12 she attended MCI in Gretna where she caught the eye of classmate George Froese, whose calling was to serve Jesus' love to people in a foreign land as a medical doctor. She felt the same calling and they were married in 1950, sailing to India in 1954. They served as missionaries in India for 13 years before settling in Winnipeg where they continued sharing God's love to those around them. Mom enjoyed doing things with her hands but most importantly connecting with family and community.
Mom was predeceased by George, one son in infancy, one son-in-law plus all eight siblings. She is survived by Kathy Baerg, John/Martha, Margaret/Bruce Aikenhead, Tim/Karen, Andy/Christie, and their families. The family thanks the staff at Salem Personal Care Home of Winkler for their compassionate care. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Eastview Community Church, 315 Maxwell King Drive, East Saint Paul, MB.
