Marguerite was one of the volunteers that I worked closely with at the CMHR. She was always excited to support my school and public tours. She was a great listener and will be missed. - Posted by: Ian Martens (Colleague) on: Feb 21, 2024

I recently learned of Marguerite's passing. I had the privilege of getting to know Marguerite over the years while she volunteered at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Such a lovely, warm and caring individual. She joined our volunteer team in 2014 when we opened the museum and volunteered until Dec.2022 contributing over 1350 hours of service as a volunteer ambassador, assisting with tours and helping out with our summer surveys. To know her was to love her! She had such a bright, analytical, inquisitive mind with a way about her that compelled you to want to want to spend time with her….seek out her opinion… learn from her. She loved interacting with our visitors and with staff. She would often share tidbits of information that she learned from our visitors or from our contracted staff (guards), personalizing her interactions and adding value to every encounter. She also loved helping out with the summer surveys. It gave her the opportunity to get use her analytical skills and influence change. She will be truly missed by her CMHR family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. - Posted by: Denise Bukowski (Manager, Volunteer Services, Canadian Museum for Human Rights ) on: Feb 20, 2024

I was recently informed of the passing of Margie. It was my absolute pleasure to be Margie’s hairdresser for many, many years. I always enjoyed our visits, as our conversations included all kinds of topics. She always had interesting stories to tell, and more often than not, I learned something during our chats. Margie was very special to me, and I will miss her. My condolences to her family and to her beloved Smokey. - Posted by: Kim (Friend) on: Jan 09, 2024

My condolences to Marguerite’s family and friends. I met Marguerite through Peace Alliance Winnipeg. She was so knowledgeable and caring about peace and justice issues and brought issues and people in need of support to the organization. We shared a love of animals and I’m happy to donate to the Humane Society in her name although there was no prompt to name her. I was very sad to hear of her passing and I will miss her. - Posted by: Margaret Glavina (Friend) on: Dec 31, 2023

I knew Margeurite through her unflagging work for peace and social justice as a member of Peace Alliance Winnipeg. She joined PAW soon after moving to Winnipeg and never failed to be a part of the work. She did much to support the various causes and issues we engaged in. Her dedication and resolve will be deeply missed. In June she sent me an email explaining how health issues had kept her from participating but was hoping to recover. In particular, she was sorry to have missed an important public meeting but was eager to get a report. She was always ready to help and her friends in the Peace Alliance will miss her greatly. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Glenn Michalchuk (Friend ) on: Dec 16, 2023

Margie was not only my true to life big sister but the most outstanding guiding light I could fall back on. Happy that God has ended your painful suffering you endured while trying to recover from your recent surgery and has taken you Home with Him. I'll miss you every day of my remaining life. - Posted by: Jim R. Warner (Younger Brother) on: Dec 16, 2023
