On December 18, 2023 with her beloved family by her side, Luba left this world to be with God. She was 83 years old.
Luba leaves to mourn her daughters Cathy and Teresa (Tim) and grand puppy Penny, whom she loved so dearly.
Mom was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Walter in 2013, her parents, brother and grandparents.
Mom was born in Rawa Ruska Ukraine on January 3, 1940. She came to Canada with her mother as a young girl.
Mom worked at Carpathia Credit Union for over 30 years before retiring in 1999.
Mom and dad loved spending time at their cottage in Winnipeg Beach and it showed by the beautiful flowers she planted each year. Mom always made sure that when company came over that they left with a full stomach. Her baking and cooking were legendary.
Divine Liturgy will be held on Friday December 22, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St with Father Ihor Shved officiating.
Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kelly, Glen and Darian. Honorary pallbearers Wayne, Rod, Garrett and Ryan.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mom’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Mom’s passing has left a huge void in our lives and she will never be forgotten. In spite of our loss, it brings us comfort to know that Mom and Dad are together again.

I have such fond memories of Luba. She was such a kind and lovely lady. My memories of Luba were her visits to my family farm. She always brought her fabulous home baked goodies.
