MICHAEL HOBAN
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Hoban, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, at the age of 70 on Friday, December 29, 2023, surrounded by his family at St. Boniface Hospital.
Mike always had a smile on his face and was happy to see his many friends and loved ones. He had a passion and outstanding knowledge for automobiles. He worked and stood beside Stan and passed his knowledge onto Byron at the family business, Hoban’s Auto where he spent the past 40 plus years.
Mike was a fun-loving and generous man. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends whether it was a quick coffee or the odd beverage at the shop or breakfast at his favorite spot. He also had a love for dogs whom he spoiled with treats.
Mike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy; their children, Byron (Lisa) Hoban, Carol (Bart) Lobb, and Michelle Duma; his grandchildren, Devan Lobb, Dallas Duma and Ryenn Lobb; his sister, Lesley Hoban (Tony Funk); and many family and friends. Mike is predeceased by his parents, Stan and Margaret, and grandson, Noah.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 17, 2024, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #215, 215 Maxwell King Drive, East St. Paul, MB.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to honour Mike may be made to the NICU Trust through the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba (www.goodbear.ca) in his grandson Noah’s memory or to a charity of your choice.

Mike was a great guy and great friend . He was a lover of cars ( Chevys ) . He loved his 1956 Chevys especially his 1956 Nomad . He was always there for me when I need help . I will never forget generosity he gave to me and so many others . It was an honor to call him my friend. He struggled in life for a long time and fought a good fight .
