Peacefully, after a brief illness, we sadly announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on January 3, 2024, at 7:20 a.m.
Karl was born in the free city of Danzig and immigrated to Canada with his wife and daughter in 1958 on the passenger ship The Seven Seas. Karl started the West End Stucco Co. and then worked for the AFM of Manitoba from 1982-1992. He was a talented musician, playing the piano, organ and accordion. He also enjoyed playing SKAT at the German Society of Winnipeg.
Karl was recently predeceased by his wife, Christel of 66 years. He will be fondly remembered by his children, Peter (Connie) of Winnipeg, Janet (Tim) of Edmonton and Petra (Richard) of Mill Creek, WA; his seven grandchildren, Ryan (Cathryn), Cassandra (Majid), Cody, Dreci, Michael, Kristine (Dennis) Leigh-Ann (Trevor) and five great-grandchildren, Luca (9), Clancey (5), twins Callahan and Holden (2) and little Isaiah (1). Karl was predeceased by his father in 1967 and mother in 1979. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1986.
The family would like to thank the staff of Donwood PCH and St. Boniface Hospital for their care and comfort these past few months.
Karl has been cremated and a private ceremony will be held at Brookside Cemetery.
