It is with immeasurable sadness and grief that we announce the passing of our husband, father, and papa, on January 11, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Jackie was predeceased by his father John before he was born in 1941, and by his mother Margaret in 1977. Jackie’s memory is cherished by the love of his life, his wife, Margaret; his three children, Gary, Jacqueline (Sean), and Shannon (Jeff); his grandchildren, Karleigh (Dalton), Halle (Brent), Connor, and Jacob; and his great-grandchild Tate.
Jackie Swann was born July 4, 1941, in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Margaret Swann. He grew up in Belfast on the Shankill Road where he met and married Margaret in 1963. Jackie and Margaret immigrated to Canada after their first child in 1966. Jack’s greatest joy of all was spending time with his family. He was a very proud Father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family and what he had created here in Canada. Jackie was known best for his loving heart and sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Transcona Memorial United Church to celebrate the beautiful life of our beloved husband, dad and papa.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Children’s Hospital in Jackie’s memory.
