MARIE (NICKY) LAVALLEE

December 26, 1929 – January 15, 2024

Peacefully and surrounded by family, our beloved mother, mother-in-law, mémère, sister, and friend, Marie (Nicky) Lavallée passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, following a brief illness at the age of 94.

She was predeceased by her husband Gérard, son Richard, parents Georges and Constance Bélanger, her brothers Charles, Noel (Alice), Charlie, Edward, George (Mabel), her sisters Marieola Krut (John), Margaret Bélanger, Harriet Beaudry (Ron), Georgianna Bélanger and in-laws Paul and Françoise Lavallée and John and Irene Lavallée. She is survived by her sons Denis (Wanda) and Roland (Silvia) and four cherished grandchildren, Josée (Jeremy), James (Anne-Sophie), Justin (Amy), Janelle (Liam), treasured sister Merilda (DD) Bélanger, sister-in-law Lorraine Bélanger, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie was born and raised in Selkirk, MB, surrounded by a close-knit family and many good friends. We wish to thank the residents and staff at Villa Aulneau who generously provided support and assistance to Marie when needed. While she will be sadly missed, we are comforted in knowing she is at peace. The family is grateful for the medical attention provided at Concordia Hospital and Jocelyn House.

Donating to charity was always important to Marie. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Jocelyn House www.jocelynhouse.ca or a charity of choice.

Funeral/Mass arrangements pending.
