Our beautiful mother passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her and cared for her.
Left to find comfort in our loving memories are her children, John (Marilyn), Andrea (Neale), and Michael (Susan). Rose also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Lesley, Nancy, Drew, Kimberly, and Kyle and their partners and children. She is also survived by her special friend, Bob Nokes. Rose was predeceased by her parents John and Josephine, her brother Bruce and her beloved husband, Andy.
Although born in Toronto, Rose grew up in Winnipeg and made it her home for the rest of her life. She attended Kelvin High School where she was an energetic and enthusiastic cheerleader. She met Andy and there began an amazing partnership of love, family, business and just plain fun. Together they raised their young family while building the business of Pollock & Wright Land Surveyors. Rose took care of all aspects of secretarial and accounting matters. She was well known for her lightning fingers on the typewriter and computer keyboards.
Rose had many wonderful friends over the years with whom she shared her keen participation in bridge clubs, bowling leagues and horse racing.
Andy and Rose took up golf upon retirement and spent many winters in Phoenix enjoying the sport while engaging with another special group of friends. Warm weather found them at Lake of the Woods where Rose enjoyed being surrounded by nature, family and friends.
She will be missed by those whose lives she touched with her warmth, wit and love.
The family wishes to thank the professional and caring staff of the Saul and Claribel Simkin Center for making the very best of Rose’s past few years.
A celebration of life to honor Rose’s memory will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24 at the St. Charles Country Club (100 Country Club Blvd).

Dear Mom, Thank you Mom for saving my life when I was four years old. It was a warm Spring Day and I wanted to go out side wearing a light jacket, but you insisted that I wear my winter parka or else I could not go out, I did not want to do it, but you where adamant that I must wear my winter parka. So I went out with my friend and crossed the road from our house into a bush line that ran along the street into a 50 foot wide ditch that ran along the highway. We saw city workers starting trash fires every 300 feet or so and we saw the tall grass catching fire and spreading so we thought that we could stamp out. So we started stamping out the spreading fires and it was fun. Finally we decided it was time to go home and when we came out of the bush line my friend told me that my leg was on fire and I bent down and push my right hand through it. I start to scream and cry. I shouted for my Mom, she was by the kitchen window and saw me and heard me. She came running to me and put the fire out on my leg and took my pants off. Then took me into our house and put me on the kitchen table and rapped dish towels around my burnt leg. She ran me over to our neighbor, who drove me to the hospital. I stayed there for a month in great pain while the nurse ripped off the cloth bandage every morning. After seeing my doctor. He told Mom that the parka that she made me wear saved the fire from going up to my groin and killing me. Thank you so much for being a blessing to us and Dad. We will greatly miss you. Love, John and Marilyn. - Posted by: JohnPollock (Son) on: Feb 15, 2024

Sorry to learn Rose has passed. I have fond memories at her and Andy's home on Christmas Eve, at the lake. She was a consummate hostess and when presented with her plate at dinner always said "wuff de duff!" She was always kind and caring. Rest in peace dear Rosemarie. - Posted by: Graham Gork (Family friend) on: Feb 10, 2024
