  • The Morton's and the Marsh's were regular feature back when I was a kid. Bill and Joan would bring Andy, Heather and Billy over and out of nowhere, the kids would find fun in the outdoors while the parents had beverage and enjoyed the sounds of Duke Ellington and the rest of the jazz masters. Then, as time moved on, the gang met on a regular basis for lunch on Saturday's...usually meeting at The Heights! Bill would lead the trivia and added other interesting tidbits from the coffee magazine. Great times from way back to more recent...I do believe Bill and Gren have front row seats to great legends of the past...as they are too! - Posted by: Chris Marsh (Family Friend) on: Mar 17, 2024

  • In the 1990’s Bill headed up the “Special Prosecutions Unit” of Manitoba Justice. This unit focused on complicated fraud cases. Bill’s experience, wisdom, support and mentoring of the prosecutors in this unit contributed greatly to achieving justice for the victims of fraud in these difficult cases. Thank you Bill for your friendship and leadership. You will be fondly remembered by all those who worked with you. - Posted by: Paul Jensen (Colleague at work) on: Mar 05, 2024

  • A wonderful colleague and friend. What a sweet man who always led by example. We never forget a weekend trip to Minneapolis with Bill and his lovely wife Joan. So much fun and enjoyment. He will be sincerely missed by his family, friends, and acquaintances. RIP Bill ❤️❤️ Renee and Brian Kaplan - Posted by: Brian and Renee Kaplan (Friends) on: Mar 02, 2024

  • My deepest sympathy, Joan, to you and your family for your profound loss. Bill was a wonderful man, who always brightened the spirits of those who were lucky enough to be around him. He was a man of principle who commanded respect without even trying. His talents and intelligence were manifest to anyone who had any dealings with him, and were exceeded only by his generosity and jovial nature. I enjoyed every minute I spent in conversation with him, whether it be about work related topics, football or jazz. "Old school" in all the best connotations of that phrase, people of his ilk are rarely encountered today. I will always remember him with affection, and delight that on our first meeting outside a work environment, he commented knowledgeably and favourably about the "Maynard Ferguson" shirt I was sporting. A truly good one, who will be missed. John Peden - Posted by: John Peden (Former Crown Attorney colleague) on: Mar 02, 2024
