MARLENE WENDRA KAVANAGH

(ROGERS)

April 19, 1949 - February 17, 2024


It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mom, gammy and friend on February 17, 2024.

Marlene is survived by her daughters, Tara (Marcel), Marnie (Russ) and son Andy (Renee). Mom (gammy) will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Traiden (Autumn), Maddy (Jonathan), Payton, Avery, Ava, Brooklyn and great-granddaughter Violet; step-grandchildren, Eric, Kalissa, Jadelyn, Miguel and Stephane; siblings, Ken (Susan), Warren (Jaqueline) and Cindy (Ken); brother-in-law Bill; her dear friend and sister-in-law Linda; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family members and long-time friends.

Marlene was predeceased by her husband Ron in 2015; her parents, Margret and Andrew Rogers and father and mother-in-law William and Pearl Kavanagh.

The celebration of mom’s life will take place on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Winakwa Community Centre, 980 Winakwa Rd., Winnipeg, MB.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to CancerCare Manitoba, Winakwa Community Centre or Village of Dunnottar.

  • It's a very sad time. Marlene was always so kind and would invite my daughter, Jamie to join their family at the lake. I think that was the mid-1980's. Many years later when buying groceries at Safeway I'd stop to say hi to Marlene. I would see a twinkle in Marlene's eyes when she shared things about her grandchildren.
