The family of Irene Burns (née Lomax) sadly announces her passing on March 2, 2024, at the age of 98.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Dick in 1979, and her son Richard David in 1967. She leaves behind her children, Sandi (Frank), Barb (Robin), and Bill (Sandy); grandchildren, Geoff, Andrew, Laura, Matthew, Lisa, and Shannon; and great-grandchildren, Sayer, Ewen, and Madinah.
Irene was born and raised in London, England. She met and married Dick in 1943 during the Second World War and immigrated to Canada on the Queen Mary with her young daughter in 1946. Irene, Dick and their four children moved across Canada for many years during his service in the Canadian Armed Forces. They eventually settled in Winnipeg, MB.
She lived for the past ten years at Donwood Manor Personal Care Home. The family would like to thank all the staff for their wonderful care over the years while she was there.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date with immediate family.
