It is with great sadness that we announce that Dorothy passed peacefully in her sleep on February 24, 2024, in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 84.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Justin Assailly; children, Sherry (Mike) Savard; Jan (Bill) Ranson; and Michelle (Terry) Higham; grandchildren, Kayla (Kevin) Harold; Justin Savard (Jennifer Hulmes); and Meaghan Ranson (Patrick Tuominen); great grandchildren, Jada Harold and Kade Tuominen; as well as a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends from over the years.
The family expresses gratitude to Ethical Death Care for their touching photo-biography video honouring Dorothy's life, accessible through the ‘tributes’ link at the bottom of this obituary.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.

Uncle Stan, Sherry, Mike, Jan, Bill, Michelle, Terry and families. Sending you deepest sympathy to you all. Aunty Dorothy was extremely special to me. I loved her calls at Christmas. I loved going to your place at Christmas growing up in Thompson and at Setting Lake. Even once in West St. Paul!
