Date of Passing: Mar 18, 2024
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY (STAN) SWEETLAND
After a long, healthy and full life, Stan passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024, at the age of 97.
He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth (Bess) in 2014; sons, James (1953) and Warren (1988); parents, Percy and Harriet; and brothers, Percy and Leslie.
He is survived by his daughter Diane Mann (Larry); daughter Sharon Snowdon (Glenn); grandchildren, Ashlee (Scott), Michael (Victoria), Amber (Dane), and Dillon (Cassidy); and great-grandchildren, Evan, Cole, Brooke, Olivia, Nixon, Luna, Mavrik and Noelle. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Donna and Evelyn Floren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dad was a long-time resident of East Kildonan where he provided his family a caring and loving home. Dad enjoyed 39 years of retirement. Although he enjoyed travelling, his happy place was the years spent at the family cabin at Victoria Beach. He enjoyed the outdoors and everything nature had to offer.
We will remember all the celebrations together, your love for your family, friends and neighbours, your kind and selfless demeanor, your humor and compassion for others. We will also remember to enjoy and appreciate the simple things in life as they are the most important as you so taught us.
In respect of dad’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral. A private family farewell will be held later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Diane, Sharon and families Neil and I send our deepest condolences on the passing of your Dad. He was such a sweet, soft spoken kind natured person. We spent many holidays together when we were young and a handful. Always lots of fun and love to go around for everyone. May he rest in peace and join Bessie Kay and Bruce for one heck of a reunion 🥰 - Posted by: Lynn Ingram-Reimer (Our parents were long time friends, and best man and maid of honour for each other. ) on: Mar 23, 2024
