It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of David John Robb of Winnipeg. With family at his side, David peacefully entered eternal rest on March 19, 2024, at the age of 88.
Born and raised in the Fort Rouge district of Winnipeg, David developed a love for driving from a young age. His first job as a truck driver for North Star Oil was the start of a 60-year career behind the wheel. He could legitimately say “I’ve been everywhere, man”.
Known to most as a quiet person, David was a natural storyteller who used his humour and a warm smile to full effect. He had a fondness for nostalgia, old radio programs, and old Fords.
David was predeceased by his parents, David and Ruby Robb; children, James, Loren, and Gerald; and brother Barry. He leaves his spouse, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will follow at a later date.
The family wish to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Deer Lodge Centre Tower 7 for the loving care they gave to David over the past two years. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a charity of your choice in honour of David's memory.
