TRACY FINSTEN

March 9, 1970 - March 16, 2024

One week after her 54th birthday, Tracy left this world and a light went out in the lives of all who knew her.

She will be sorely missed by her parents, Bob and Lorraine; sister Barbara (Kevin); the love of her life, Derek; as well as many family members and several life-long and new friends.

She was a compassionate lady with a cheery smile who had a need to perform every task with as much perfection as possible.

Her family and friends drew on her vast catalogue of knowledge which she had gained from life experiences and many varied interests – only some of which were union activities, optometry, poker, medicine (both animal and human), crafts, reading, and British comedy.

She and Derek spent many enjoyable hours at Assiniboine Park’s English Gardens and especially loved the Leo Mol statues.

Family and friends will dearly miss her beautiful hand-crafted cards, and her tasty Christmas cookies.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may donate to the charity of their choice or to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Tracy was a very special lady. I will miss our birthday dinners and sharing our wishes. A kind and sweet person. My perpetual optimist. I will miss you. - Posted by: Eva Grosz (Friend) on: Mar 31, 2024

  • Tracy was the most amazing lady. We had lunch together at work for years. We had the most interesting conversations. She was full of life and energy and plans for the future! The first year I received a baggie of her Christmas cookies, I realized what I had been missing in my life, lol! I do feel guilty now that I outbid everyone else for all of the homemade cards she donated for our workplace charitable campaign auctions- every year. Someone else deserved a chance to enjoy her creativity too. But they were so gorgeous I couldn’t help myself. She had all kind of amazing talents and she had a huge positive impact on my life. I will continue to miss her dearly. To you, Tracy, a very lovely human being! - Posted by: Chris Fehr (Friend/co-worker) on: Mar 30, 2024
