CHRISTOPHER RICHARD JEFFERS

November 24, 1984 – March 22, 2024

With great sadness the family announces the untimely passing of our beloved son.

Christopher was predeceased by his grandparents, Marlene and Ian Murray and Darlene and Congdon Jeffers. Left to cherish his memory are parents, Cindy Matview (Michael) and Ross Jeffers (Jenny); sisters, Sarah, Stefania (Brent), Rachel (Graeme), Jessica, Erica, and Grace; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.

Chris was born at Misericordia General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he lived his best life. In his younger years he participated in Special Olympics and had a curious affinity to sports, more as a motivated fan than participant; was an avid movie enthusiast and still today has an extensive personal collection of VHS movies. Chris loved music, was a celebrated dance virtuoso and the life of every party he attended. His circle of friends had no boundaries as Chris welcomed all into his life, albeit on his terms. He also loved nothing more than a good road trip, whether to the gas station or across the country.

Chris attended Grant Park High School where he graduated in 2005. After graduation Chris left the family home and settled into a Community Residence where he enjoyed his time hanging with his roommates. Now that he had found his people Chris’ peer group broadened through opportunity to build lifelong friendships, none as strong as the bond between Chris and his BFF Greg. Together they went to movies, sporting events, adventures throughout Canada and the US and endless meals and car rides. During his career at Norshel Inc. he thrived through his bonds with co-workers and new friends. Socialization was Chris’ everything and he was a true man with a plan, who once dialed in was strong in his conviction and virtually unstoppable. His fearless approach to life allowed Chris to meet every challenge head on with fierce tenacity and determination.

The family wishes to thank the EMTs, staff at St. Boniface Emergency and ICU for their thoughtful care and guidance.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manitoba Down Syndrome Society or a charity of your choice.
