JAY ANTHONY MITCHELL

June 20, 1947 – March 31, 2024

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jay Anthony Mitchell (Tony) in the early morning of March 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Jay leaves his wife Margie; daughter Michelle (Sam); son Matthew (Brie); grandchildren, Luca, Scarlett, Robyn, Eric, and Anthony; and sisters, Jackie Reykdal and Marilyn McNeil to mourn his passing.

Jay had an entrepreneurial spirit and ran Mitchell Builders, a successful construction company, for many years. He was passionate about his work and appreciated his many employees.

Jay enjoyed coaching and managing his kid’s various sports teams, spending time at the family cottage, travelling with his family in their fifth wheel trailer, and cheering for the Jets and Bombers.

The family expresses gratitude to Ethical Death Care for their touching photo-biography video honouring Jay's life, accessible through the 'tributes' link at the bottom of this obituary.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the banquet hall, at Oakbank Baptist Church, 26033 Springfield Road, Oakbank.
