Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMA ETHEL B. NEWMAN
After celebrating her birthday and 100 years of life and hard work, caring for family and enjoying many wonderful friendships, Norma has peacefully passed into heaven, seeing her loving Savior, joining her Mom and Dad and many extended family members and friends. She is rejoicing there in the presence of the God of whom she grew up learning about and coming to know and love in a personal way.
She will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Karen, and Sherry (Wayne); four grandchildren, Anita (Ross), Sean (Regine), Jenifer (J.C.), Krista (Scott); six great-grandchildren Des (Dan), Noah (Camri) Emerald, Maleah, Soleil, and Chanson; nephews, Guy (Florence), Craig (Colleen), Kevin. She was predeceased by Mom, Margery (in `00), Dad, Harry (in `03), brother Cyril or `Bud`` and his wife, Betty, and nephew Mark.
Norma was born in Balsam Bay, Manitoba. Moved to Selkirk and then Winnipeg to get her education. Success Business College prepared her for various accounting jobs. Her longest and last job was at Child and Family Services. She was married to John for 24 years before separating ways. She cared for her 2 girls and then her parents and brother in the later years. God and church were very important to her and she wanted to make sure her family and friends would be in heaven one day with her and Jesus. She loved the Queen, her Dad’s family history and the country of England, where she was able to visit 3 times. Loved her travels to Europe, Panama Canal, Disneyland and B.C. She busied herself with Toastmistress club and sold Amway and Metrin products.
In `Sept `68, Norma was in a horrible car accident. She was in ICU for 2 months and pronounced dead 3 times. Doctors at a convention interview called her the `miracle lady. `Thank you again, friends and family who were praying for her. God not only proved He was in control then but also other times, including covid twice, the RSV virus and another virus last year. `Lady with 9 lives` and Survivor lady` were mentioned several times.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday May 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, 1 Green Acres Lane, Winnipeg, with Ron Hampton officiating. A reception will immediately follow. Interment will take place afterwards for family at Balsam Bay Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Faith Bible Camp, 760 Charleswood Rd, Wpg. MB, R2R 1K6
