Suddenly on October 13, 2023, Conrad passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital.
Conrad grew up in Fort Erie, Ontario. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces at an early age, where he served for the next 25 years with 2 PPCLI as a REME. He was active in the Peacekeeping forces in Cyprus. He was posted to Germany three times, the last time from 1984 to 1986, when he was promoted to C.W.O. He retired in 1990 in Winnipeg. He then joined the Commissioner in 1990 for the next 15 years; and then the Parking Authority for five years.
He will be fondly remembered by his wife Barb of 43 years; two brothers, Lorne and Mark; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Elisabeth, sister Donna, brother-in-law Bill, and niece Marie.
Cremation has taken place, and interment is to follow at Brookside Cemetery Military Section in the spring of 2024.
