Ken described himself as a waif from the 1950s north end, one that did not do very well in school. He said he was not on a good path and his life might have been very different than it turned out. He got in with the right crowd when recruited to the Pepsi Pack Dance Group that “pulled me up by my bootstraps”. It changed the trajectory of his life.
He was proud of his career. Following retirement, he joined the Cambrian Credit Union’s governing board. Resigning from the Cambrian Board due to his failing health was very difficult.
Ken believed strongly in community service and he thrived in volunteer roles at United Way and the St. Boniface Hospital Board.
From his perspective, his greatest accomplishment was that of ‘Dad’. He is so proud of his sons, the men he helped shape, good men who are there for others. Family was everything.
Ken learned of his Metis roots later in life which he said helped him better understand his childhood family experiences. He took great pride in his Manitoba Metis history.
We can’t forget to honour Ken’s love of our family pets, especially Scooter who did all he could to heal Ken.
Ken was predeceased by his mother Bertha (Van Raes) Lamoureux and father Edouard Lamoureux; sisters, Estelle, Lucille and Diane and brother Eddy. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda; son Jonathan and daughter-in-law Mithila; granddaughter Alina and son Daniel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
Ken was a good man. He was deeply loved. He made a positive difference in the lives and organizations he touched. He will be missed intensely but will live on through our memories, music and classic ‘Dad’ jokes.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home located at 220 Hespeler Avenue at Henderson Hwy.

I met Ken in 1965. I was in awe of him because to me he was a celebrity having been part of the e Pepsi Pack. All together we spent 16 years together. He was talented, very studious and wanted to make a better life for himself. You know what, he really was a remarkable man who never hesitated to help anyone in need! My last contact with him was in 2011 when he and Linda attended my mom's funeral. I was so touched and grateful. To Linda and your sons, I want to express my very sincere condolences on the loss of your husband and father. I'm crushed because I never stopped caring for him. Always I wished the best that life had to offer both of you and your sons. Linda, I hope you are okay. I know this is a most difficult time. I lost my husband in 2016, but life goes on and after time, it does get better. I'm just so sorry for your loss. Most sincerely, Val Lamoureux - Posted by: Val lamoureux (Former wife) on: Sep 02, 2024
